Our Cast

  • Puddles is a gentle soul from the faraway planet Florp who feels very fulfilled working at the Sugar Hole! He enjoys meeting people of all ages, hearing about their days, and serenading anyone who asks (and sometimes even those who don’t). Puddles has a soft spot for pickles and peanut butter sandwiches, puppies, and believes that kindness, curiosity, and ice cream cones can brighten anyone’s day. After a shift, he likes to unwind by feeding ducks at a nearby pond and reflecting on the little joys of the universe.

Puddles was created by and is puppeteered by Camille Mitchell.

Jeremiah Carburetor

Puddles

  • Before moving to the Windy City, Jeremiah Carburetor worked for decades as a ranch hand in the foothills of Pennsylvania. After years of physical labor, his achin’ bones jumped at the opportunity to work a cushy job at “The Sugar Hole”. Since starting his new life in Chicago, Jeremiah spends most of his time outside of “the hole” exploring the city with his darlin’ girl, Moolissa.

Jeremiah was created by Lucy Wirtz and is puppeteered by Evan Thompson.

Eggbert

  • He's pink! He's a bird!  He's loud and clearly from somewhere on the East Coast! And, he believes this job at the Sugar Hole will help him get discovered so he can finally achieve his dream of being a star of stage and screen!

Eggbert was created by and is puppeteered by Lucy Wirtz.

  • Drew is a pretty cool dude. Hailing from the San Fernando Valley with an accent to match, Drew spent most of his time long-boarding and surfing in Santa Monica. After relocating to Chicago, he spends his time working at the Sugar Hole, singing pop punk (he knows the words to every Green Day song) and trying to replicate the rush of Pacific waves on the banks of Lake Michigan. Whatever.

Drew was created by Lucy Wirtz and is puppeteered by Lucy Wirtz and Evan Thompson.

Steve

Drew

  • He may be one of the only employees with teeth and it's true that his legal name may not be translatable into English, but "Steve" had such a great time working at the Sugar Hole last summer that he knew he had to come back! Steve is an exchange student from a distant planet studying Human Society with a minor in Ice Cream Studies. Landing a job at the Sugar Hole was just the cherry on top for his time on Earth.

Steve was created by and is puppeteered by Lucy Wirtz.

Lady
Margarine

  • Lady Margarine cordially invites you to come visit her at the Sugar Hole! One of the newest employees, Lady Margarine enjoys spreading joy via ice cream and connecting with the Albany & Irving Park communities. She is using her employment at the Sugar Hole to improve her socialization and people skills which could use some work as she was kept in a tall, tall tower for most of her life. On an unrelated note, if you know of any eligible princes, please send them her way.

Lady Margarine was created by and is puppeteered by Lucy Wirtz.

  • Meet Dansby Swanson. He swears he had the name before the famed Cubs short stop. The name Dansby Swanson sounds too proper to be an athlete…right? Anyways, when he is not working at the Sugar Hole, he is a butler in Ravenswood Manor. He spends his downtime reading the encyclopedia and engages in long, competitive games of Boggle and Scrabble.

Dansby was created by Lucy Wirtz and is puppeteered by Lucy Wirtz and Evan Thompson.

Moolisa

Dansby
Swanson

  • Moolissa is a sassy bovine who loves glitter and her boyfriend, Jeremiah Carburetor. Working at the Sugar Hole since the very beginning, Moolissa is a dedicated milk maker and loves showing off her singing skills to the kiddos. Catch Moolissa dancing in the hole most every Saturday and Sunday!

Moolissa was handmade by Risa Rubin and is puppeteered by Sophia Tarducci.
