The Sugar Hole It is with wide eyes and sticky lips that Color Club announces the opening of The Sugar Hole, the world’s only puppet-powered ice cream walk-up window! Nestled in the leafy green understory of Chicago’s sweetest neighborhood, Irving Park, The Sugar Hole opens between the hours of 3 and 8 PM on summertime Saturdays and Sundays. The industrious puppet employees of The Sugar Hole will greet visitors and take their orders. Their fuzzy felt hearts beat for soft serve ice cream and they can’t wait to delight Chicago’s sweet teeth with their tasty recipe for good times. The Sugar Hole can be found on the Hamlin-facing side of Color Club, at 4146 N. Elston Avenue.

Haters Club
Haters Club was started in Chicago in 2018 and now happens in LA, but is now back in Chicago for one night only. It’s hosted by David Brown (Jury Duty), Danny Catlow (The Bear), and Kate O’Connor (Funny Games). The show originally started as a roast show. While we no longer do a full program of roasting, we certainly keep the hate alive.

We don’t book bad comedians, only good ones. We actually hate bad comedians. Past performers have included Sarah Sherman, Megan Stalter, Chelsea Peretti, Patti Harrison, Chris Fleming, Langston Kerman, Zainab Johnson, Brent Weinbach, DJ Douggpound..

SORRY FOR YOUR LOSSYears after a personal tragedy, Michael Cruz Kayne talks about grief. Michael is a Peabody and WGA award-winning writer, a four-time Emmy loser, and currently works for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. As a stand-up, he’s appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers, and as an actor he’s been on Severance, High Maintenance, White House Plumbers and some other stuff. Michael returns to his comedy roots with a pared-down version of a show that had an extended run off-Broadway at the Audible Theater and was named among the Best of Audible 2023. The show is currently nominated for both a Lortel Award and a Drama Desk Award. It was recommended by the New York Times, whose critic tweeted ” ‘Sorry for Your Loss’ is a genuinely buoying show, BTW, and it is comedy: inquisitive, funny, provocative, compassionate. Emotionally, this culture doesn’t know what to do with seismic grief, but Michael Cruz Kayne does.”
