Extraordinary Popular Delusions // Ex IbexKnown for their longstainding residencies at Hotti Biscotti and the Beat Kitchen, Extraordinary Popular Delusions has been a stalwart of the Chicago improvised/new music scene since its 2005 formation. Named after a 19th-century Scottish sociological study of market bubbles and manias, Extraordinary Popular Delusions personnel will probably involve some combination of Jim Baker (piano, ARP synthesizer, viola), Brian Sandstrom (double bass, electric guitar, trumpet), Steve Hunt (drums, percussion), and Edward Wilkerson Jr. (reeds).
Ex Ibex is a new/creative music ensemble that brings together 5 Chicago performers contributing their unique and personal approaches to group improvisation and spontaneous composition. Their distinctive sound – atmospheric, gritty, spacious and rhythmically driving -.is informed and inspired by influences including the storied Chicago music scene, contemporary classical, rock, funk, world musics and more. Flowing from one sonic space to the next, Ex Ibex approaches its performance without expectation, leaving the listener constantly surprised with what comes next. Ex Ibex is Dheeru Pennepalli (guitart), David Keller (cello/keyboards), Maria Elena Hernandez (a. saxophone), Jeff Chan (winds) and Greg Diethrich (drumset/percussion).

Grace KuhlenschmidtGrace Kuhlenschmidt is an NYC based stand-up comedian, actress and writer who was recognized by the New York Times as one of the top 7 Comedians to Watch. Last year she was also recognized as a New Face by Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival. Grace recurred in the final season of SEARCH PARTY (HBO Max), can be seen in the first season of KILLING IT (Peacock), and also appeared in the first season of ZIWE (Showtime). Cosmic Country Showcase: Bad TripThe Cosmic Country Showcase is back for three nights at Color Club this fall. Lunar crooner Andrew Sa and cosmic clown Mary Williamson take us on a journey through the Cosmic Country that’s gone all kinds of sideways. Passengers on this trip will start in Color Club’s Tavern which will be completely transformed into a black light haunted bar by the stellar artist Glamhag before the house band, The Flying Objects, guide our hosts and esteemed guests through their nightmarish country-psych revue. Every show is different with on-theme artisans, local opening cosmic country acts, comedy, and variety changing each night!

This special cuffing season installment of ‘Please Date My Friend’ is an evening of powerpoint presentations by friends of hot singles in your area that will guarantee you a boyfriend by Thanksgiving (sort of). Single people’s friends will be ‘pitching’ them to the audience in hopes that they will find their one true love. Hosted by Kira Felsenfeld and featuring some of Chicago’s most cutie sweetie pies, love will surely be in the air. MOZEY: An indie-rock band from Chicago. Zoë DePreta, Alissa Wolff, and Em Modaff all have orange tabby cats and figured it was a sign that they should start a band. Mae, who does not have an orange cat (yet)will be joining them on bass. They recently released their debut, self-titled EP “Mozey,” available for streaming everywhere.
LiFECYCLiST: A solo project for Christopher S. De Salvo (member of Doloroso, performer at iO, Annoyance, Steppenwolf) that’s also been a long-awaited work in progress for the local musician who’s been able to contribute his musical abilities to a slew of bands and miscellaneous projects over the past two decades.
